Roberton (1874\u20131952) in the 1930s, referring to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mingulay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an island off the coast of Scotland<\/a>. \u00a0The man was the founder of the Glasgow Orpheus Choir. \u00a0The song\u00a0is set to the tune from an old Scottish \u00a0Gaelic song named &#8220;\u00d2ran na Comhachaig&#8221;. \u00a0The first set of lyrics are Roberton&#8217;s original and the following are an example of how they are commonly sung in various folk music circles&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Jos.
