Hiring the Band

We do often perform in other venues both private and public.  We consider the immediate lower Connecticut River Valley our home base and our fee for a three hour performance begins at 800$, depending upon the venue and day of week/time of day (interference with day jobs, &c).  The longer we perform and the further we travel (time as much as direct line of distant) will naturally increase our fee.  We accept a 20% deposit to book us for most of our shows – contact Joseph Morneault – JosMorn@aol.com – for details and bookings.

We bring our own sound system usually although it is convenient if a public venue has its own.  Pubs and bars are a common venue for us, but we also do private parties, commemorative events, folk festivals, museums, public concerts, universities, workshops, &c.  If you are looking for a smaller group (one or two of us) for smaller venues, we can handle that as well and adjust the fee as we think appropriate.  We cater to an adult audience but a couple of us have programs geared towards a younger group and/or we can refer you to someone.

Hi Joey, We don’t want to miss the celebration in honor of Cliff’s long running gig at the Gris. When are you guys having that? Jim and I want to make sure we book a table for that night.

    Thanks,
    Ann and Jim Rolston

Monday, 16 Oct. It’s a “secret surprise”, so the fiction is that it’s a command performance for a family gathering of the owners.

    Hi Tim and Crew!
I work at The Oyster Club in Mystic, CT and we wanted to celebrate Christmas and the spirit of Mystic with the gift of your joyful voices for an evening in our bar either during Happy Hour and after. We were hoping for any night Sunday, Dec 18th through Friday Dec 23rd. Obviously Monday is out with Sea Shantey Night at the Gris! The owner, Dan Meiser, is a huge fan of Sea Shanty night and would love for you all to join us! Please let us know the cost and if you can and are interested in coming on down!

    Hey!
My husband and I are playing briefly before Baylee and Quinn’s wedding, the processional and when they are coming back down the aisle. I pay fiddle and Jim plays concertina. We really need a rhythm instrument (guitar) to round out the sound. We plan on playing Coleman’s March for the processional, and Star Above the Garter for the recessional (title is not the reason!). Would one of you be willing to at least play for those two songs. We have been asked to do this by the bride and we are not being payed for it. Also, we have sheet music if that is helpful. As we are running out of time please call on the phone if you like at 860-672-6101 or rely to me by email.

    Thanks,

    Jane Prentice

      Hello Jane,

This is not a problem. All I’ll need is the key you intend to play in. I’ll be there by noon for setup.

Would like to know if you have a program that is geared to children. I am involved in a two-day day camp in July and want to explore having a music program that involves music by the water.

      Hello Rose,

I’m afraid no, we really have tailored our show towards an adult audience. However, I believe that I know one or two possibilities that might work for you… I’ll check on them and get back to you!
