I had completely forgotten about this, but…
This coming Monday the 18th… Is our Pirate Monday! Come sing songs of the sea with us and be attired in piratical garb or bar wench as you wish! Sort of a pre-Halloween costumed event!

This coming Monday the 28th will be our annual Hawaiian Shirt Night! SO many reasons but mostly that it’s usually hot and who doesn’t love exotic drinks and girls in grass skirts! Break out your favourite Hawaiian shirt, Bermuda shorts, grass skirt, grab a lei and come on down for drinks and song! Pass the word; come and get leid!
To our favourite pissed upon horse’s ass… Happy birthday, ol’ man!
Although there will be another alert as we get closer, now’s the time to mark your calendars… And get your tickets! On Friday 28 July we’re playing aboard the Becky Thatcher, leaving the dock in Deep River for a little river cruise between 6p and 9p, singing all the way! Tickets are 45$ and you should either call 800.377.3987 or visit the website essexsteamtrain.com. Your ticket gets you a train ride from the station in Essex up to rendezvous with the riverboat, time with us, and the return trip via the train to your vehicles back in Essex! Perfect date night!

Monday – 10th July – we’ll be in the Covered Bridge Room (the back room) for a command performance for the combined groups of the Swiss Mariners (Basel) and the Ancient Mariners (Guilford). We expect that the chantey group from both groups and maybe even the formidable Marc Bernier will get up to sing! You might inquire for table space – dinner. Like our St-Pat’s night/Survivor’s Night we’ll have a speaker in the tap room for your listening pleasure.

But with the warmer weather comes myriad possibilities. Friends and performers from afar and crowded tap rooms… Be grateful it won’t be smoke filled like days of yore!
A couple of new songs to the repertoire… Farewell to Carlingford and The Banks of Newfoundland.
Here we are again! This weekend is the annual Sea Music Festival (see the flyer below) AND THEN…
On Monday the 12th will be our annual hosting of Survivor’s Night at the Griswold Inn! I understand that all the tables have already been booked, but we’ll have a speaker in the tap room so that you’ll hear what’s going on, and usually the room opens up for standing room after the tables have been cleared. TAKE NOTE: this is not our usual weekly performance! It’ll be more of a concert format – We’ll open per usual but then there will be A LOT of guests both professional and amatuer and they will be singing their hearts out for you! Give them your attention and participation… The tap room is where the conversations should take place.

THIS SATURDAY!! We are playing our New Haven home – The Gryphon Pub at GPSCY. The doors open at 8 and we begin at 9, going until midnight. 204 York St, New Haven, Connecticut 06520… Parking along York St if you can get it, or various parking garages in the vicinity.
